TL;DR: We don't collect, store, or sell your data. Period. All Reckr apps use a "Bring Your Own Key" (BYOK) model, meaning you provide your own API keys and we never see your data. Your API keys are stored securely in your device's Keychain.

4. How Our Apps Work
TextActions (macOS & iOS)
What it does: Transforms text using AI providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.)
Data flow:
- You select text in any application
- The app sends your text directly to your chosen AI provider using YOUR API key
- The AI provider processes your text and returns the result
- The result is displayed or pasted back into your application
- Reckr never sees your text or API communications
What is stored:
- API keys: Stored securely in macOS Keychain or iOS Keychain (encrypted by Apple)

- You record audio by holding the Command key
- Audio is temporarily saved to your Mac's temp directory
- The audio file is sent directly to OpenAI using YOUR API key
- OpenAI returns transcribed text
- The audio file is immediately deleted from your Mac
- Reckr never sees your audio or transcriptions
What is stored:
- API key: Stored securely in macOS Keychain (encrypted by Apple)
- Preferences: Stored in UserDefaults on your device
- Audio files: Deleted immediately after transcription
- No transcription history is saved

Data processing:
- All audio processing happens on your device
- No audio sent to external servers
- No data collected or transmitted
5. Third-Party Services
Our apps integrate with third-party AI providers, but you control these relationships directly:
When You Use Your Own API Keys:
Important: When you use the BYOK (Bring Your Own Key) model, you have a direct relationship with the AI provider. Your data is subject to their privacy policies, not ours. We recommend reviewing their policies before use.
Local LLMs (Ollama, LM Studio, etc.):
When using local LLMs, all processing happens entirely on your device. No data leaves your computer.
6. Data Security
While we don't collect your data, we take security seriously for what is stored on your device:
- API Keys: Stored in Apple's Keychain with encryption at rest
- Local Database: SQLite databases are stored in your application container
- Permissions: We only request permissions necessary for functionality:
- Microphone (R-Transcribe): For voice recording
- Accessibility (TextActions, R-Transcribe): For text injection
- Input Monitoring (R-Transcribe): For Command key detection
